An introduction to Chesham Grammar School

Open Evenings for parents and children who are interested in joining Chesham Grammar School will be held on 24th and 25th September 2024, from 6pm-8pm. The Head will give a talk at 6.15 pm and 7.00 pm. When visiting the school please consider our neighbours and park with care. 

There is no need to book for this event.

 

 

11+ admissions 

Applications for admission to the school at the start of Year 7 are handled by Buckinghamshire Council as part of its co-ordinated admissions scheme. If you are interested in making an application, please visit the relevant pages of Buckinghamshire Council's website here.  All enquiries about 11+ admissions should be directed to the Admissions Team at Buckinghamshire Council.  

Parents who live in Buckinghamshire will receive information about the 11+ process, through their primary school. Parents who live out of county eg in Hertfordshire, London Boroughs etc should be aware that they need to register their son or daughter for the 11+ test at an earlier date;  details are on Buckinghamshire Council's website here.

Joining Chesham Grammar School in Years 8 and 9

Late Transfer Testing (entry to Year 8 and 9 September 2024)

Please note that CGS is currently full in all Key Stage 3 year groups.  Pupils who qualify for a place as a result of late transfer testing will therefore be placed on a waiting list in accordance with our over subscription criteria in our 2024 Admissions Policy which can be found on our website.    

Applications for admission into Years 8 and 9 are handled on behalf of the Governing Body by Buckinghamshire Council as part of its co-ordinated admissions scheme.  If you are interested in making an application, full details can be found by visiting the relevant pages of the Buckinghamshire Council's website here.

Year 10 entry

Entry into Year 10 in September 2024

If you would like to apply for your child to be tested for a place in Year 10 in September 2024, please contact the school's admissions department from October 2023 onwards for an application form.

The deadline for registration for Year 10 entry tests will be January 31st (or the next working day if that is a weekend) of the same year as stated in our Admissions Policy.

Sixth form

Information relating to applications for our Sixth Form for September 2024 are in our 2024 Admissions Policy on the left of the page.

The closing date for applications for admission to Year 12 in September 2024 will be 8th December 2023.
