Celebrating GCSE Results
Staff and students at Chesham Grammar School are celebrating a superb set of GCSE results this morning. 71% of entries were graded 9-7 with almost half at 8 or 9. 80% of students have at least 5 grades 7-9. Headteacher Annmarie McNaney said, "I am absolutely delighted for our students and am very proud of them. They and their teachers have worked incredibly hard over the last two years, rising to the challenge of the new, more difficult GCSEs and achieving some of the best GCSE results we have ever had. I couldn't be happier for them."
Amongst the excellent results are some outstanding individual achievements. Top performing student Emily Scott is understandably over the moon with her results. She gained a clean sweep, with grade 9 in all ten GCSE subjects. A significant number of other students also achieved the very top grade, 9, in a good number of subjects. Charis Lister and Elizabeth Walker each gained nine grade 9s with Ethan Holmes and Aaliyah Hirani amongst those who were awarded eight. Ben Harris who gained six grade 9s, two 8s and a 7 as well as an A* in Economics is really pleased with his results. He said, "Thank you to Chesham Grammar for pushing me to my full academic potential and for providing me with four great years." Harry Barrett whose results in the new GCSEs were all 9s and 8s said, "Thank you to all the teachers. This has been a tough year and I can't thank them enough for their support."
Annmarie McNaney said, "These results are outstanding and there are lots of very happy students, parents and teachers here this morning. Many congratulations to everyone".
