Year 12 put their investigative skills to the test
Our Sociology and Psychology A level students took part in an immersive Murder Investigation Experience Day, following a case from an emergency 999 call through to a mock Crown Court trial.
Working alongside an experienced investigator, students gathered evidence, analysed forensic findings and examined suspects, applying their knowledge of criminology, law and investigative theory to practical tasks. The day concluded with a courtroom simulation, where students presented their findings and defended their decisions before a jury reached a verdict.
The experience provided valuable insight into careers in policing, forensic science, law and the wider criminal justice system, while also developing students’ confidence, teamwork and critical thinking skills.
A special thank you to Miss Fraser and Mrs Lovelace for organising this exciting opportunity.
