Giving Day

                          

Thursday 25th April

The aim:

To get CGS students active and moving to help raise money for the new artificial pitch. 

House competition

On Thursday 25th April Year 7,8 and 9 will be competing in their houses to complete the CGS Sportathon. In this unique version of sports events, students will aim to complete the furthest distance in the following areas:

  • -Track Running
  • -Swimming
  • -Rowing 
  • -Sports Relay – (This will involve, dribbling and throwing various sporting items)
  • -Skipping 

Format

Students will compete in one area within their house and aim to cover the furthest distance. You will compete in relay format. This will be completed during P1,2 and 3 on Thursday 25th.

  • Year 7 - P1
  • Year 8 – P2
  • Year 9 – P3

Students MUST come to school wearing CGS PE kit, you will stay in your PE kit for the remainder of the day. (No house colours)

  • On arrival students should head to the Tennis courts, here you will be registered by your class teacher, before heading off to your activity.

 

  • Scores from Year 7,8 and 9 will be accumulated to generate a CGS Sportathon winner. 

 

  • Year 10,11,12, 13 and staff will also have a chance to increase the distance of their house by either running or rowing during lunchtime on Thursday 25th April. 

 

Friday 26th April

Our Giving Day will come to a close on Friday 26th April where we will be hosting a cross bar challenge on the field at lunchtime!!

Staff and students are welcome to try the tough task of hitting the cross bar with the football. Miss McNaney and Mr Spittle have already signed up and are quietly confident.
