Year 7 & 10 take part in National Enterprise Challenge
Every year at CGS, Years 7 & 10 take part in the National Enterprise Challenge. It normally starts for us in January, where they are split into teams for the day and the winning groups from each year are selected to take part in “The Finals” which normally take place live in July alongside 200 other schools. Last year, for the first time, the finals were held virtually with teams putting together an online presentation and both Year 7 & Year 10 successfully reached the top 5 finalists. Due to the ongoing restrictions this year, the whole challenge has been run virtually with the challenge launched to the students during Careers Week in March.
Again, it has been a different enterprise challenge to run and partake in this year, and has resulted in the students working hard on their presentation in and out of school over the past few weeks. Their final presentations were uploaded last week and are now being judged ready for the Virtual Finals this Thursday at 1pm which is being hosted by Konnie Huq, television and radio presenter, the longest-serving female presenter of the popular UK children's television programme Blue Peter.
We thought it would be a nice idea to share their presentations with you all, which are available to view here:
Well done to Yesmine, Tegan, Ben, Oscar, Darcey & Harvey of EcoRain Y7 and Ella, Evelyn, Luca, Sally & Eliza of Rush Hour Y10 for overcoming their fears and apprehension at the start of this challenge and for pulling together really great ideas in such a difficult year.
